Rollingwood has been referred to as “The best little city in the city”. A city entity all on its own, with beautiful rolling hills, and gorgeous oak trees throughout, Rollingwood has become one of the most sought after locations to live by both new residents and long time residents of the Austin area.
Rollingwood is located in the nationally ranked Eanes Independent School District public school system, and is literally 1 mile from downtown, and under a mile to Zilker Park, Barton Springs Pool and the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. Since the installation of public sewer systems and because of the larger lot size in the area, Rollingwood has surged in popularity over the past decade, with many homebuyers choosing to remove existing structures and build new.
At the heart of Rollingwood are several ball fields, a public playscape and picnic pavilion, and the Western Hills Athletic Club (membership only) which includes two tennis courts and an olympic sized pool, and a bath house.
The highway access from Rollingwood is exceptional, with Rollingwood Drive connecting the popular Bee Cave Road corridor and the Mo Pac expressway.
The Rollingwood Police Department protects the residents of this small City. There are many events throughout the year including an Easter egg hunt, and a 5k called “life is good in the Wood”.
